Brockley Brickmaking LEW_PH-62-473 1000px

Entries must be portraits of the people at the heart of the present-day Brockley’s businesses.

Can you produce an image to rival this amazing group portrait of ‘Brockley’s brickmakers’ taken in the 1890s?*

All entries will be showcased in an exhibition later in the year.

Although they don’t necessarily live here in Brockley, the people running its businesses are its beating heart. We want to celebrate them, and document them for posterity. Shopkeepers, baristas, hairdressers, postmen, estate agents, brewers…

There are two categories: photographers aged Under 16, and Over 16.

Deadline for entries is August 31st 2017.

The Judging Panel will include professional photographer Pete Bartlett.

Please ensure you try to ask permission from the subjects of your photos.

Please submit a maximum of three images with a few sentences about yourself and your photographs to: [email protected] .

Please head the email “Photo Competition Entry”; we will endeavour to acknowledge your entry.

A long-list of finalists will be announced in September, followed soon after by an announcement of the winners. At the same time there will be a month-long exhibition of all long-listed photographs, at a local venue.
