Brockley Society Barbecue
Bring friends and family for a communal cook-out, and to meet others from the Brockley area. All are welcome! We set up beside the Stone Circle, from 7pm. Some basic food and refreshments will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own to cook (and share!) on BrocSoc’s barbecue. Vegetarians and Vegans welcome! This is a fairly low-key gathering rather than a party; the aim is to just enjoy a pleasant summer evening in the company of community…

From 1pm until 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday (3 & 4 July), the Community Garden is delighted to host Brockley Open Studios 2021 - Garden Edition. Exhibitors will include Alistair Roberts, Gillian Burrows, Giulia Zanioi, Jan Bowman and Elisabetta Fumigalli. The Fayre is back! A local highlight of the summer, Brockley’s biggest community event is usually attended by over 5,000 people, with something for everyone.Sadly we had to cancel the 2020 event due to social distancing regulations, but we have taken the plunge and are going ahead with the event this year. Open Meeting. ‘Captain William Colbeck in Antarctica’. Talk by his granddaughter Sandra Margolies.
Lewisham resident Sandra Margolies will discuss the three journeys made to Antarctica by her adventurous grandfather Captain William Colbeck (1871–1930) at the start of the Heroic Age of Exploration.
